Re: Movies, Flicks, Films, Videos, cinematography

I am taking this two-weeks holiday to binge-watch old classics: Hawks, Ford, Sirk, Chaplin. A complete bliss. A title in particular: Gun Crazy, by Joseph H. Lewis.

Re: Movies, Flicks, Films, Videos, cinematography

Do you remember Combat Shock ? That one Troma flick that was less Troma-y than the others? Re-released in blu-ray, I watched it last night. It's still a bleak viewing, with that music and that ending. The young(er) me respected the low-budget feeling as much as your next indie-film-director guy. How...

Re: new wave

Predictably, Virgin Prunes followed Bauhaus and now The Fall. Mark E Smith will always be remembered.

Re: new wave

I was browsing my cds/lps before, looking for something to keep my ears happy while cleaning the house. I stumbled into this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iGvfWus-y4 Well, the whole record where that title track comes from. Probably my favourite Bauhaus', or at least the one I hold dear in my he...

Finally caught latest Paul Schrader's, First Riformed. His best in a long while. Nuts, yes, but possibly one of the best I've seen this year.

Re: App Store

I need to fix my phone on the arm now, or something like that. And something to keep my glasses steady while running and working out. But then, hopefully, I'll be ready.

^ Thanks, but it's actually quite hard for me too :)

Especially because there is a lot of Mathematics I have to keep up with if I want to go as far as I wish. Although I was very good with numbers in high-school, the extent of my ignorance of Mathematics is huge.

Re: /dev/null

^ :D I started out of curiosity, mainly interested in the differences between a dynamic-type language such as Clojure and a static-type one as Haskell. Then, once I grasped the syntax which at first was scaring me away, I fell in love. I am still studying Haskell in my spare time and using Clojure i...

^ Like mine, then, a regular LED TV. Which isn't bad, of course, but I had the chance to see an LG OLED in action recently and I was overwhelmed. I'm not sure how LG compares to other OLEDs, or whether Samsung QLED is better or not, but those LGs last week just blew my eyes off.

Re: EDC, gadgets and gear stuff

^ 55" is the maximum size I could use. There is one here at about 1500€, but I was hoping for 1000€ tops. ^^ Projectors: I don't know, quality-wise they're not exactly what I am looking for, and the best projectors are still around 1200€. At that price, OLED still feel like a better choice if I coul...
