If you have no Xmas present yet for your mum, grab this copy and customize it, with a “Me as toddler” wallpaper and her favourite radio stations in the tray. Add some ebooks, her wedding photos from 1783 and you are good to go.
Why “Mother”? It can be used by mothers. Or grandmothers. Included packages are the Iceape Suite (browser, mail client, addressbook), the LibreOffice Suite (writer, calc, draw, impress), Pidgin IM, Deadbeef and Radiotray for music, Gnome-Mplayer as usually for video playback, Flash plugin and Adblock enabled, Java (OpenJDK) and brighter mother-friendly artwork (the awesome wallpaper is provided by Kexolino — thanks a lot for this!) . Bluetooth support is added and several minor issues are ironed out. There’s also an Openbox session as fallback, customized with a simplified menu. Please note that this release will only come as 64-bit version.
