New kid on the block: Dell XPS 13

Image

This bad boy is sporting: i7, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD, display QHD. Straight from Dell website with Ubuntu 16.04 ready to rock. Should be a "enough" for my coding needs.

Re: config.fish

^ Yes, it feels like a bloated zsh at first (which in turn feels like a bloated bash, which it's a bloated...). But it won me over with its completion and its syntax. :)

Re: config.fish

So far so good. I particularly like the clean syntax for custom functions. For instance: function get -d 'Download from a remote URL' if command --search 'curl' >/dev/null curl --continue-at - --location --progress-bar --remote-name --remote-time $argv else if command --search 'wget' >/dev/null wget...

Re: TV series

Liking Taboo, 2 episodes left.

I'm not sure I'd like it as much if Hardy wasn't there 99% of the time.

config.fish

I've been using/testing the Fish shell in the last couple of days. My setup is here: https://github.com/manuel-uberti/dotfiles/tree/master/fish/.config/fish And for the Emacs lovers out there: (use-package fish-mode ; Handle Fish shell scripts :ensure t :mode ("\\.fish\\'" . fish-mode) :config ;; Ru...

Re: TV series

When in need of laughs, I started the classic Only Fools And Horses. I'm sure Wux knows what I'm talking about.

Re: Exotica

^^ Finally got time to sit down and give the mix a proper listen.

On the ambient side of the whole Exotica planet, fragments and pieces pop up from everywhere. I see Giuseppe Ielasi was involed on Tristes Tropiques, so I guess that's somehow related.

Good stuff!

It's the people around me who still use PowerPoint. ;)

Re: Linux News

Don't get me started on this.

LibreOffice is mature and works wonders. It has been good for a while now, and I don't really see the point in using MS Office anymore aside from silly PowerPoint slides which are still the only thing LibreOffice can't support well. But we all know whose fault this is.

Re: TV series

Treme: 2 episodes left. Felt short and somehow incomplete. Besides the boring Annie Talarico, music is exceptional, but coming from me this is no surprise. I'll probably watch it again soon just for the music, but I'm already collecting records like a mad man. A true lesson on the real history of mu...

There is org-calendar-select-mouse, but I'm not sure this is what you're looking for.
